Our place in the sun and us:

Us: Solange and Joris (Dutch couple).
Our Wish: Already for years we wanted to start a business of our own.
The reason: Solange wanted something in the tourist business in which she has been working for 15 years and which is where her passion lies. Joris always wanted to realize one of his childhood dreams: to run a campsite.
We decided to search for a piece of land where we could start a small rural campsite.
The quest: In 2006 we started to look around during our holidays. It was not easy because our place in the sun had to meet quite some standards. The site should be easily accessible, in rural surroundings, but near a town with shops and restaurants, situated in an area with hiking and biking possibilities and where you can explore the country with its art and culture.
The discovery: Finally, in 2007, we ended up in Campo Maior, a typical white painted Portuguese town, just across the Spanish border, 15 km off the highway passing Badajoz (Spain). Here we found our piece of land some 800 metres outside town.
Departure and construction: In 2008 we moved from the Netherlands and we started the construction of our campsite. A lot of blood, sweat and tears was involved, but here we are!
We thought of a name for our campsite: Camping Os Anjos which means Campsite the Angels.

We are convinced that this is the place we were looking for: for ourselves as well as for our guests. We strive to create a nice, simple rural campsite for everyone.
